2016 Rock for a Cause Bands Announced

SARASOTA, FLA. — S-One Holdings Corporation is excited to announce the Top 6 musical acts that will perform live during the 2016 Rock for a Cause battle of the bands 2-9 p.m. on Nov. 12 on Main Street, Sarasota.

The acts were chosen by online votes and official announced on Oct. 7. The six bands will each play a 15-minute set on Nov. 12, and spectators will vote on their favorite overall band. The winning act will receive $1,500 cash and will be the closing act of the night.

JUST ANNOUNCED: The overall winning band will also perform during the Sarasota Music Half Marathon in the Rock for a Cause Entertainment Zone. The Half Marathon takes place Feb. 5, 2017.

Here are the Top 6 acts that will compete for these great prizes:

Bl3nded, A trio playing covers from classic rock to pop with hopes to have originals soon! Band members: Daniela, vocals and guitar; Halle, vocals; Jainey; vocals

Trey Wanvig Band, led by a 14-year-old guitar player and singer who plays blues and rock. Band members: Trey, lead vocals and guitar; Pete, bass; Sammy, drums

David Smash Band, an up-and-coming group shaping the future of blues music in their own special way. Band members: David, guitar, piano, harmonica and vocals; Allan, saxophone; Joe, bass; Sammy, drums

South Trail Band,  a mix of Mississippi funk, cut loose rock, smooth soul, and sizzling blues, a night with STB will add a smile to your face. Band members: Norm, vocals and bass; Donna, vocals; Mike, rhythm and lead guitar; Glenn, drums; Jim, keyboard and harmonica

Rickey Tedesco, a 17-year-old singer who studies at the Music Compound through the Hank Aaron Scholarship Chasing Our Dreams. Band members: Rickey, vocals

The Tattered Saints, three-guitar harmonies, pulsing rhythm section and a raspy-voiced storyteller combine to deliver a pure and anthemic rock ‘n’ roll experience. Band members: Al, guitar and vocals; Mike, bass and vocals; Kit, guitar and vocals; Ryan, drums

“We’re so proud of all 20 bands that entered this year,” says Shauna Malgieri, chair of the Rock for a Cause executive committee. “We’ve wound up with a great mix of artists who will, no doubt, get Main Street rockin’ on Nov. 12!”
